From the Collection:

The Ronald Craig Papers (Series No. 31/6/222) consist of one box of 100 photographs taken by College of Arts and Sciences and School of Law alumnus Ronald Lucius Craig, dating from 1971 to 1974, and accompanying documentation created in 2021, as well as an addition of 1 USB drive containing 585 digital photos taken from 1971 to 1976 (4.09 gigabytes).

The documentation includes an item-level inventory of the photographs created by Craig, with descriptions of events, identifications of many individuals pictured, and occasional commentary by Craig, and a timeline of events during his undergraduate years to contextualize and enable approximate dating of undated photographs. Photographs predominantly depict Black student life at Northwestern University from 1971 to 1974, including Black Folks Theatre performances, social events, For Members Only (FMO) gatherings, intramural basketball, FMO's involvement with the formation of the African American Studies Department, Greek life, students at the Black House, and more. Collection also includes 2 pages of written recollections by Craig about Northwestern University professor of sociology Raymond Mack, and Craig's circa 2021 curriculum vitae.
