Scope and Contents
The papers of Roland Kysiak provide a record of his involvement in projects to develop university research parks, and more broadly in urban development. The papers consist of research data, presentations, notes, correspondence and writings.
The Biographical Files is a small collection in Box 1 that spans the dates 1973-1995 and contains material relating to the life of Ronald Kysiak.
The Kysiak Business Files in boxes 1 to 6 contain files from 1994 to 2010 provide a record of Kysiak's involvement in other economic development and urban affairs projects. The majority of these files contain research and data about research parks outside of the Evanston Area, and records of Kysiak's involvement with the Association of University Research Parks, and IDEA, a third party consulting firm of which Kysiak was a member.
The Presentation Files, from the years 1994 to 2003, are located in box 7. These files contain PowerPoint presentations, notes, and transparencies from the many lectures and presentations Kysiak gave on Research Parks, and Economic Development. The Presentation Files are also the location of various articles written by Kysiak for journals and newsletters on Urban Development and Research Parks
The Appointment Books in boxes 8 and 9 chronicle the day to day activities of Kysiak from 2004-2010. Besides accounting for Kysiak's appointments with various government and business officials, the calendars note Kysiak's trips throughout the United States and the World highlighting his extensive involvement in urban development throughout the world.

Abstract
Urban planner Ronald Kysiak was the first Executive Director of the Evanston Economic Development Corporation, later known as "Evanston Inventure," and Vice President of the Northwestern/Evanston Research Park, which he had played a major role in developing. Papers document his career in several Evanston projects (1984-2010) as well as his research and involvement in urban planning projects elsewhere, and include biographical material, project files, and presentation/publications files.
