Scope and Contents

The University Archives holds photographs of individual freshman members of the class of 1978. The photographs appeared in the introductory booklet published by the Northwestern University Alumni Association for freshmen entering the University.

The Alumni Association booklet, “Northwestern University Class of 1978,” should be consulted as a supplement to this series. This booklet lists students' names, home addresses, and secondary schools attended.

Abstract

The University Archives holds photographs of individual freshman members of the class of 1978. The photographs appeared in the introductory booklet published by the Northwestern University Alumni Association for freshmen entering the University. The photographs, usually wallet-size, are mounted in groups, alphabetically arranged by student surnames, on forty-five fifteen inch-by-twenty-one inch sheets of cardboard.

Arrangement Note

The sheets also are arranged alphabetically. Smaller format photographs are mounted separately from the wallet-size photographs. They are mounted in alphabetical groups according to student surnames and are arranged at the end of the series. A few photographs that arrived at the University too late to be included with the alphabetized groups also are placed at the end of the series.

Method of Acquisition

The University Archives received these photographs from the Northwestern University Department of Alumni Relations (Accession #81-116).
