Because of its extremely brittle condition, this volume has not been examined in detail.

The wrapper created by the Tribune Company Archives (the relevant portion of which has been retained) indicates that the volume contains individual pages related to the "Smile coupon" contest in the Chicago herald and examiner, and the "Cheer checks" contest in the Chicago tribune. Specifically, the volume contains pages from these newspapers:
