The original letter is in series IX-63, box 1, folder 11: "Mrs. Grant and my self will be please [sic] to have a visit of a week from Mrs. Medill, one of the daughters and yourself, commencing the fifth Monday in Jan.y if you can give us the time. ... I am glad ot hear that Chicago is fast recovering from the effects of the fire."
