Executors' first account

 Item — Box: 3, Folder: 4

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection of papers, created and maintained by the Chicago Tribune's law firm, Kirkland & Ellis, reflects the firm's handling of various matters for members of the Patterson family. Although much of this material is tangentially concerned with the McCormick-Patterson Trust, these papers deal not with the management of the trust itself, but rather with the family's ownership of shares in the Trust, and its alottment of proceeds from the Trust. The collection also includes information about the family's dealings with the firm in matters not related to the Trust. Much of the activity recorded here is utlimately related to the result of the divorce of Alice Higinbotham Patterson and Joseph Medill Patterson ("10080-W-7. Alice Higinbotham Patterson vs. Joseph Medill Patterson"), and concerns their three daughters Josephine, Elinor and Alicia.
