Biographical / Historical

Weymouth Kirkland (1877-1965) joined the law firm of Shepard, McCormick & Thomason in 1914. The firm was soon renamed McCormick, Kirkland, Patterson & Fleming. Some time after Col. McCormick left the firm it became Kirkland, Fleming, Green, Martin & Ellis, and over the years took on many other similar names, but always with "Kirkland" as the lead name. (The firm is now known simply as "Kirkland & Ellis".)
