[Northwestern University Dental Library], 1947

 Item — Multiple Containers

Scope and Contents

Silent, black and white film taken by Carlos E. Pomés showing the Northwestern University Dental School Library, including the reading room—both empty and full of patrons, the circulation desk where patrons interact with staff, and shelves of books and periodicals. Most of the footage is very dark and hard to see.

At 4:48 the film cuts to color footage, beginning with a quick glimpse of an illuminated building with the dates 1847 and 1947 (possibly related to the centennial of the Chicago Tribune). The film ends with color footage of the staff at work in the library on June 23, 1947.
