Barnes, Ruth, 1936
Scope and Contents
This collection includes primarily personal and business correspondence to and from both Fritz Reiner and his wife, Carlotta Reiner. Mrs. Reiner often acted as Fritz's personal secretary, and much of her correspondence is in this vein, though some of her personal correspondence is included. Papers regarding the Curtis Institute of Music and the Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Chicago Symphony Orchestras are extensive and often include correspondence from various directors and managers to others outside their respective organizations. Materials include correspondence, financial records, notes, and some photographs. Most photographs are documented in folder descriptions.
