General

This is a secondary school. Note the uniforms and the fact that there is only one young woman shown. Men have traditionally been given the right to education before the women, all over the world, even here in the U.S This is changing in Ghana as it is elsewhere. Still, in the early 1970's at Legon University in Accra, the capital, there was only one women's dormitory as compared to four for the men. New annexes were being built, however, to accomodate both the growing influx of students, in general, and specifically, of women.
