General

Each sailor would keep track of how many limes he squeezed to put in his own bottle which had his own markings. The entire ship was lined with bottles, of which you can see a few on the right hand of the ship. The men would sell them once they got back to Arabia. In the foreground: Each of the crew would keep his personal possessions in one of these trunks. There was no cabin on this boat, so the men slept on the deck.
