General

This Turkana person in northern Kenya is waring a traditional "mud pack" hair-do. This is made of blue 'seguta' clay, which is obtained near Lake Rudolph. This clay is imbedded over a period of time into the hair so that the hair can grow into it. It is decorated with ostrich feathers. These feathers are inserted into dried goat teats, which were previously inserted into the clay. The man is also carrying a spear and wearing a red robe.
