General

These are two typical earrings, about 12 inches long, made and worn by Masai women. They are made from a 2-inch wide goatskin about 10 inches long and folded in the middle. The front half is heavily decorated with beads and bits of metal. At the bottom there is a large circle of beads sewn onto leather. This kind of earring hangs from the extended bottom part of the ear lobe so that the large circles just lie along the top of the chest.
