General

Bamako, in southern Mali, is surrounded by ridges, and is very green as compared to the most famous religious center of Mali, Timbuktu, in the more arid north. The trees of Bamako are mostly mango trees. Just off to the center of the slide in the Big Mosque of Bamako to which many Muslims from all over the country come to worship on Friday. (Friday is the Muslims' day of worship as the Christians' Sunday)
