Additional Description

General

These are northerners, many of whom are students who were demonstrating against the idea that civil service should be unified. Typical of the signs, which are in Hausa, is "One North, One Rule," or "The Sedona is not dead." This demonstration turned into a riot against the Ibo. It preceded the second coup by about 2 months.
