General

These stone carvings were dug up in a town near Ilorin. They are not thought to have been done by Yoruba, but by some previous people who had lived in the area. The excavation was being carried out by Peace Corps volunteers with some funding through the Nigerian Art Historians. The carvings were gathered in this building in order to be sorted out. 1966.
