General
Senegal is about 80% Muslim. Many Islamic leaders live in Dakar. This mosque is one of the most important centers of worship in the country. In the foreground: a site has been cleared for the erection of a milk-processing plant. The picture is taken from what used to be the Lebanese/French quarter of Dakar, now inhabited by all Senegalese and foreigners.
