United States Life-Saving Service, Evanston Station, Photograph Album
Photographic portraits of many individuals, both surfmen and keepers, associated with the Evanston (Illinois) Station of the United States Life-Saving Service, are found in this volume. The portraits, mainly in standard cabinet format and dimensions, were made by a number of photographers, several (Aikin, Root, Charles Smith, and Fowler) with studios in Evanston. Dated photographs cover the years from 1888 to 1893. Most photographs, however, are undated.
University Library Photograph Negatives
This series includes 30 rolls of negatives from photographs taken of the University Library. Most rolls total 36 exposures. The negatives, black and white and on Kodak Tri-X Pan film, are in 35mm format. The photographs, apparently taken during the early 1970s, are mainly of the interior of the University Library although some shots of Deering Library also are included.
